COMMENTS: | Absorption measurements using hydrogen-discharge lamps as light sources and a VUV spectrophotometer
Extinction coefficients have been digitzed from Fig. 5, normalized to the maximum given in Table 1, and then converted to absoprtion cross sections (conversion factor 3.8235×10-21)
Remark of the authors: "The spectral shapes obtained are in good agreement with those of
A.J.Harrison, B.J. Cederholm, and M.A. Terwilliger, Absorption of acyclic oxygen compounds in the vacuum ultraviolet. I. Alcohols, J. Chem. Phys. 30, 355-356 (1959): DOI: 10.1063/1.1729952,
and with those of
K. Watanabe and M. Zelikoff, Absorption coefficients of water vapor in the vacuum ultraviolet, J. Opt. Soc. Am. 43, 329, 753-755 (1953); DOI: 10.1364/JOSA.43.000753,
although our molar extinction values are 1.5 times to twice as large as theirs. The reason for this discrepancy is not clear" |
