Cross Sections / Aromatic compounds / Alkyl-,vinylbenzenes / 1,2,4,5-(CH3)4C6H2 / Bolovinos(1982)_298K_137.8-289.1nm

DATAFILE: 1,2,4,5-(CH3)4C6H2_Bolovinos(1982)_298K_137.8-289.1nm.txt
NAME: 1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene
FORMULA: 1,2,4,5-(CH3)4C6H2
AUTHOR(YEAR): Bolovinos(1982)
T: 298K
λ: 137.8-289.1nm
BIBLIOGRAPHY: A. Bolovinos, J. Philis, E. Pantos, P. Tsekeris, and G. Andritsopoulos, "The methylbenzenes vis-a-vis benzene. Comparison of their spectra in the valence shell transition region", J. Mol. Spectrosc. 94, 55-68 (1982); DOI: 10.1016/0022-2852(82)90293-4
COMMENTS: Absorption measurement using a Rank-Hilger 776 monochromator, a McPherson hydrogen light source, a dual-beam sample chamber, and a detection system (spectral resolution 0.25 nm)

Extinction coefficients (in L mol-1 cm-1) vs. photon energy plotted in Fig. 1h have been digitized and converted to absorption cross sections (conversion factor 3.8235×10-21) vs. wavelength

A preliminary report deals with the Rydberg series observed in the region 7-9 eV (138-177 nm):
