COMMENTS: Recommended absorption cross section at the Lyman-α wavelength with an estimated uncertainty factor p(298 K) = 3

The value is taken from

A.R. Ravishankara, S. Solomon, A.A. Turnipseed, and R.F. Warren, "Atmospheric lifetimes of long-lived halogenated species", Science 259, 194-199 (1993); DOI: 10.1126/science.259.5092.194 ,

who measured the cross section directly at Lyman-α.

The large uncertainty factor is due to the large discrepancy between the available data of Ravishankara et al. and

J. Doucet, P. Sauvageau, and C. Sandorfy, "Photoelectron and far-ultraviolet absorption spectra of chlorofluoro derivatives of ethane", J. Chem. Phys. 62, 355-359 (1975);DOI: 10.1063/1.430493
