Cross Sections / Nitrogen+compounds(N,H,O) / HN3 / McDonald(1970)_300K_100-328nm

DATAFILE: HN3_McDonald(1970)_300K_100-328nm.txt
NAME: hydrazoic acid
FORMULA: HN3
AUTHOR(YEAR): McDonald(1970)
T: 300K
λ: 100-328nm
BIBLIOGRAPHY: J.R. McDonald, J.W. Rabalais, and S.P. McGlynn, "Electronic spectra of the azide ion, hydrazoic acid, and azido molecules", J. Chem. Phys. 52, 1332-1340 (1970); DOI: 10.1063/1.1673134
COMMENTS: Absorption spectra were recorded on Cary 14 and 15 and McPherson 225 (1-m) spectrophotometers, absorption pathlengths ranged from 0.1 to 10 cm

Extinction coefficients vs. wavenumber (30000-100000 cm-1) plotted in Fig. 3 have been digitized and converted to absorption cross sections (conversion factor 3.8235 × 10-21) vs. wavelength

The relatively strong absorptions at 111 and 122 nm presumably are due to H2O contaminations as stated by

G. Schönnenbeck, H. Biehl, F. Stuhl, U. Meier, and V. Staemmler, "Vuv photolysis of hydrazoic acid: Absorption and fluorescence excitation spectra," J. Chem. Phys. 109, 2210-2219 (1998); DOI: 10.1063/1.476789
