COMMENTS: | The electron energy loss spectrum (EELS) of N2 measured in a crossed electron beam-molecular beam collision geometry has been converted to the photoabsorption spectrum, and the relative absorption cross sections have then been normalized to the absorption cross section at 58.6 nm reported by
J.A.R. Samson and R.B. Cairns, "Total absorption cross sections of H2, N2, and O2 in the region 550-220 Å", J. Opt. Soc. Am. 55, 1035 (1965); DOI: 10.1364/JOSA.55.001035
!! The data for photon energies from 10 to 50 eV as listed in Table 2 (converted to absorption cross sections vs. wavelength) obviously are erroneous and not in agreement with those plotted in Fig. 5 !! |
