NAME: oxygen
FORMULA: O2

BIBLIOGRAPHY: R.W. Ditchburn and P.A. Young, "The absorption of molecular oxygen between 1850 and 2500 Å", J. Atmos. Terr. Phys. 24, 127-139 (1962); DOI: 10.1016/0021-9169(62)90191-5
COMMENTS: Measurements with a quartz prism spectrograph

A significant increase of the absorption cross sections with pressure is observed (probably due to the formation of the dimer O4)

The listed data are the cross sections σ0, i.e., extrapolated to zero pressure according to the expression

σ(p, λ) = σ0 (λ) + p × ρ(λ).

The pressure coefficients are

--------------------------------
λ    ρ
(nm) (10-24 cm2/atm)
--------------------------------
200  14.1
205  10.1
210   8.1
215   6.4
220   5.6
225   5.0
230   3.8
235   2.6
240   1.9
